PM Modi opens GIS-2025 in MP, Adani pledges ₹1.10 lakh cr investment

The two-day Global Investors Summit-2025 began today in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya. He also launched 18 new policies to boost investment in the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav welcomed Modi by draping a shawl and presenting a picture of Lord Mahakal. Modi apologized for rescheduling his arrival due to student examinations. He said he adjusted his schedule to avoid disrupting them.
At the event, Modi pressed a remote button to launch the investment policies. Officials screened two short films—“Madhya Pradesh: Infinite Possibilities” and “India Growth Story.” The films showcased the state’s industrial potential and India’s rise as a global economic leader.
Modi highlighted India’s strong economic growth. He cited the World Bank’s forecast that India will remain the world’s fastest-growing economy. He also noted a UN report calling India a “solar power superpower.” He emphasized that while many countries make promises, India delivers results.
Madhya Pradesh leads in India’s EV revolution, Modi said. By January 2025, the state had registered nearly two lakh EVs. He also praised MP’s growing manufacturing sector. He mentioned a report showing India’s emergence as a global supply chain hub for aerospace.
Modi will spend about an hour and 15 minutes at the summit. He may also hold one-on-one discussions with industrialists in the PM lounge.
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, in a video message, announced a ₹1.10 lakh crore investment in mining, smart vehicles, and thermal energy. He said this would create 1.2 lakh jobs by 2030.
Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, announced an 8,000 MW solar-wind-battery project in Malwa-Bundelkhand. He pledged a ₹50,000 crore investment in renewable energy.
The summit aims to position Madhya Pradesh as a top destination for investors.
