PM Modi meets his Japanese counterpart Shinzō Abe at Bangkok

New Delhi, Nov 04 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit at Bangkok today. The discussions focussed on preparing the ground for India-Japan 2+2 Dialogue & Annual Summit later this year.

 

Prime Minister today shall be participating in the 14th East Asia Summit and RCEP Summit later in the day.

 

Later, Modi took part in the luncheon meeting on Sustainable Development. In his opening remarks, Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-Cha said that the ASEAN has reiterated its commitment to reduce energy intensity by 30 per cent and increase the share of renewable energy by 23 per cent by 2025. He said that ASEAN has made tremendous progress in poverty alleviation.
