Kolkata, Jan 02 (HS): In the midst of an intensified state sponsored anti CAA-NRC rallies and other forms of protests in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to come to the city on a two day visit from 10 January to take part in a number of programmes during the next 48 hours.

Moreover, in view of the raging controversy surrounding the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register for Citizens(NRC) in the state and the tough stand taken by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee against them, Prime Minister Modi might also address a public meeting in the city to clear the unnecessary controversy from the minds of the general public, the sources informed further.
