With IPL 2025 around the corner, Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli has started bonding with new teammates. The franchise, still chasing its first title, retained Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal while rebuilding the squad. Among the new recruits, England’s Phil Salt joined RCB for ₹11.50 crore.

Salt Stuns Kohli with a Surprise Hit

During the RCB Unbox event, Kohli and his teammates engaged with fans at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Players tossed balls into the stands as souvenirs, but Salt accidentally hit Kohli on the head. Stunned, Kohli turned to find the culprit.

Salt later revealed the moment. “I just saw Virat in my eye-line and hit him so perfectly on the side of the head. He got whiplashed looking around. At first, he thought it was someone else, but when his eyes locked on me, he looked serious,” Salt said in a video shared by RCB.

Realizing the situation, Salt tried to escape. “I wasn’t sticking around! I tried to get out of there, but he was on me in no time. If there’s footage, it’ll be hilarious,” he added.

Kohli Excited for New Season

RCB captain Rajat Patidar led the team in a lap of honor to thank fans for their loyalty. The crowd then enjoyed a thrilling musical performance by rapper Hanumankind.

Kohli, thrilled to be back, shared his excitement. “It feels amazing to return to this city and these fans. The energy is always high. I’ve been here for 18 years, and I love it. We have an amazing squad with a lot of talent. I’m excited for the season ahead,” he said.

RCB now looks forward to IPL 2025, hoping to finally lift their first-ever title.
