PHC Samote defunct from years, authorities in deep slumber: Manzoor Naik
Jammu, March 18: Primary Health Centre (PHC) Samote areas of Rajouri district are lying defunct from years and maximum posts are vacant alleged by young BJP leader. Manzoor Naik said besides there is no availability of essential medicines and the requisite lab facility in the concerned health institution. He said in the meeting the local residents highlighted their genuine demands and issues like scarcity of water and unscheduled long electricity cuts. Local people also demanded that JK Bank Branch and ATM should be made operational at Samote as it was already sanctioned in 2018 and to avail Bank services people from Samote and its adjoining area were forced to travel approximately 10 km. Manzoor Naik in his address said that BJP is fully committed towards resolving the long pending issues of the region. He said that recently he met with top Bank officials regarding this issue and the Jammu Kashmir Bank is going to open a new Branch at Samote soon. Later on, Naik along with other party workers and local people also visited Primary Health Centre (PHC) Samote which is lying defunct as maximum posts are vacant. Besides there is no availability of essential medicines and the requisite lab facility in the concerned health institution. He alleged that if government has established the health institution then it’s solely the responsibility of the administration and the concerned department to provide adequate manpower. It is pertinent to mention that this hospital can benefit over 10 villages with population of about 10,000 souls but till date they have not provided sufficient staff to this health institution. If government has established the health institution then it’s the responsibility of government to provide adequate manpower. PHC Samote is eighth wonder of the world as it has only one MBBS doctor and it has neither water supply nor electricity connection and moreover the building is in a deplorable condition infrastructure wise despite a huge amount of more than one crore expenditure in the building”, Naik further said Manzoor Ahmed Naik said that nearly seven Panchayats are dependent on this PHC but due to its poor infrastructure and lack of staff and other facilities the people of these seven Panchayats are forced to visit Kandi and Rajouri for their treatment and It is a huge burden on the poor people of the area.
