PGV offer to help migrant labourers: no bus in sight so far
Lucknow,May 19(HS)In order to help migrant labourers reach home,Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadraa had offered to send one thousand buses to Uttar Pradesh which was accepted by the UP government on Monday. However,no bus has arrived so far, even after more than 12 hours of accepting the offer.
A list of buses with registration numbers were sent following acceptance of the offer but the list contained registration numbers of some two and three wheelers,a government spokesman said here on Tuesday.
A report received an hour ago said that the buses would arrive by five pm.The delay was attributed to late granting of permit by Rajasthan government from where they were to reach the state.
There is confusion in official circles as it was said by some party men earlier that the buses had not arrived because of jam on UP-Delhi border.
In light of this ,the state government had asked magistrates of two districts sharing border with Delhi to receive the buses there.
If the new deadline( five this evening) is also missed, the party will face much embarrassment. Priyanka will receive a lot of flak.
