Pakistani Army Violates Cease fire in Degwar and kirni sector
Poonch, 20 May, (HS) : On Second consecutive day Pakistani army violates cease fire in Kirni and Degwar sector of Poonch District.
Locals said Wednesday Pakistani army violates ceasefire and targets forward Indian posts and civilian areas in Degwar and Kirni Sector of poonch District. Shakeel Ahmed a local said in Pakistani shelling few houses of his village were damaged
Army said Pakistani army first opened fire with small weapons and with Mortars on Indian army’s posts in Degwar and Kirni sector. The soldiers manning the fence responded strongly.
An Army official said this morning at around 09.30 AM Pakistani Army violates cease fire forcing us to retaliate. Army sources said Pakistani army used Light weapons followed by mortar shelling on Civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.
SSP Poonch Ramesh Kumar Angral informed there was no report of loss of life and property this time however he added that the exchange of fire continued.
Defence PRO Col Devinder Anand said following ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army, Indian Army retaliated with equal caliber and gave a befitting reply to the enemy.
