Pakistan court sent Hindu girl to Women’s Safety Center..
Islamabad, Jan 24 (HS): The court has given an important decision in the case of forced conversion of Hindu girls in Pakistan. A 15-year-old Hindu girl has been sent to the Women’s Safety Center on the court’s order. The Hindu girl was forcibly converted to a Muslim.
Ninth student Mahek Kumari was allegedly kidnapped from Jacobabad district on January 15 by Ali Raza Solangi, who later married her. Her father Vijay Kumar had registered a case, which claimed that Solangi abducted her and forcibly married her. Her daughter was 15 years old when she was kidnapped.
According to court officials, Mehak Kumari and Solangi were produced before a court on Tuesday, from where the girl was sent to the Women’s Police Security Center. The court also directed the Chandka Medical College to submit a report about his age by February 3.
According to the media report, Sindh Minority Affairs Minister Hari Ram Kishori Lal has assured full support to Kumari’s family. The minister said that the Sindh government fully supports the stand of the family and the Hindu group. Forced conversion of minor Hindu girls has become a common issue.
Minister Hari Ram Kishori Lal appealed to the authorities to seek information about vandalism and injustice against Hindu girls and to take measures to ensure security for the minority community. He said that under the Child Marriage Prevention Act, a girl cannot marry until she is 18 years old, it is a crime.
The minister praised the court’s decision to send the girl to the Women’s Police Security Center, saying that in such cases girls should not be handed over to those who were involved in their abduction. The abduction and conversion of Hindu women have been a major issue in Sindh province, where most Pakistani Hindus live.
