On line approvals to simplify building permissions: KTR.
Telangana: Hyderabad: Dec 21 (HS): MA&UD Minister K.T. Rama Rao spoke at a workshop for town-planning officials on the proposed Online Building Permission system in Hyderabad today. In the workshop, Minister discussed simplifying the approval process for building permissions.
Speaking with the officials, Minister KTR stressed ensuring transparency in giving permissions. He said that the government will soon introduce a new building construction permission system in the State. The new approval system will change the perception of the people towards town planning officials, said Minister KTR.
The permissions will be issued on the lines of TS-iPASS providing single-window clearances for industries. This new approval system will be implemented as a part of the new Municipal Act. Minister KTR said the new permissions system is being introduced to provide better services to citizens and also make the approval system transparent and efficient.
As per the new system, simple registration will be sufficient for those who construct a building within 75 yards. self-declaration forms can be used if an applicant is constructing a building within 600 yards, and if exceeding 600 yards, the applicant can receive permissions through the single-window system.
The new system has the authority to demolish illegal structures that violate the norms. In case of any mistakes or errors done by the officials, action will be taken against them as per norms.
The Minister stated that the vacancies in the Town Planning department will be filled soon. He also mentioned that the basic infrastructure at various municipal offices will be improved.
