Lucknow, 12 April (HS) : In the battle against coronavirus, now Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath himself has come down in the field. Taking command in his hands, CM Yogi assured the people that there is absolutely no shortage of vaccine in the state. The Centre has provided Uttar Pradesh with 20 lakhs doses of Covid vaccines.
“The state now has an adequate stock for the vaccination drive. It is the time to save humanity” is the message of the CM . In fact, Uttar Pradesh now has sufficient medical facilities and other resources for successfully treating Covid-19 patients and containing the epidemic.
According to a spokesperson of the state government Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is actively working in the forefront to deal with the coronavirus pandemic in the state. He is personally keeping a check on the medical arrangements made in the state to save the people from the deadly corona infection. In the meetings with his team, CM Yogi also does an everyday review of the Covid-19 vaccination work. More than 85 lakh people have got their jabs so far in the state, he said.
The spokesperson said that this is the result of the activism of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that the state was successful in getting 20 lakhs more corona vaccines. On the other hand, due to shortage of coronavirus vaccine in Maharashtra, vaccination drive is affected because the government there has shown sluggishness in formulating a concrete plan for vaccination.
Emphasis on Team Work
Hs said that the Yogi-led UP government has again made ‘Team Work’ a weapon to deal with the challenging situation of Corona in the state.Playing the lead, CM Yogi said that for the effective management, every department should come together and ensure inter-departmental coordination for convergence of resources.
Motivating the state officials, CM said that the best example of Covid management which was presented by all the districts of Uttar Pradesh last year which has set an example for other states as well. “Even in the second wave, with ‘team work’ we will definitely win the battle. Last year, because of the contribution of those involved in dealing with the pandemic, international organisations like the WHO have praised the coronavirus management of Uttar Pradesh,” said Yogi.
Teeka utsav begins in the state
In a bid to increase vaccination and motivate the people, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed everyone to take part in the four day special vaccination drive, Teeka Utsav. He, himself, inspected the vaccination centres to keep a check on the drive. The vaccine drive which began on the Birth anniversary of social reformer Jyotiba Phule will wind up on 14th April on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar.
Vaccination of 28.2 lakhs people in only 10 days
According to Dr.Rakesh Dubey, Director General, Family Welfare, 28.2 lakh people has taken their dose of vaccine in just 10 days of April. “As the centre has opened up its COVID-19 vaccination drive for people above 45 years of age from April 1, there is a sudden increase in the number of people getting vaccinated. Amid the current Covid surge, the demand for vaccines is increasing rapidly. After the acceleration of vaccination campaign, on an average, 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh vaccines are being administered every day. So far more than 72.72 lakh persons have received first dose of the vaccine while more than 12.12 lakh have got both the doses.
Keeping an eye on vaccination
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the data of Covid vaccination in the state are being recorded in the computer. The CM personally monitors the data of the 75 districts in the state. Districts are being ranked on the basis of this. In this order, district Balrampur have been ranked first and district Auraiya has been ranked second in the case of Covid vaccination of health care workers (health worker). While Agra has got the last place for getting Covid vaccination.
Special Cleanliness Campaign
The CM has asked to run a special cleanliness campaign on behalf of the Department of Urban Development and the department of Rural Development for the prevention of disease. He reminded that in the fight against Corona, sanitization, cleanliness etc. have special importance.
Attention is also being paid to the availability of medicines
Ramping up the medical and health facilities, the Chief Minister ordered to maintain adequate availability of oxygen, health personnel, medicines, medical equipment and backups in Covid hospitals. The Chief Minister has instructed to conduct at least 1 lakh RT-PCR tests daily to identify people who have contracted the deadly disease. All government and private testing labs should work with full capacity. He directed the monitoring committees to carry out active and contact tracing work effectively.
The CM also gave directions to operate the Integrated Command and Control Centre established in the districts with full activeness and also to check the arrangements of all Covid hospitals through the control room of the Health Department. The Chief Minister has also asked people to be screened at railway stations, bus stations and airports through infrared thermometers and pulse oximeters and to perform rapid antigen tests as required.
According to A.K. Jain, Drug Controller, during the pandemic times, the State Government has also increased the resources of testing, number of beds and ventilators in the hospitals and other such resources. As of February 2020, there were only 86 units for making hand sanitizer in the state, which has now increased to 151. Since February, 65 new sanitizer units have been established.
CM Yogi has also issued guidelines for increasing the beds of Level-2 and Level-3 Covid Hospitals. There were 4333 beds of ICU in Level Two and Three Hospitals in the state, which is now being increased to 4611. Along with this, with the increase in the number of isolation beds in the state, 16422 isolation beds are being made after increasing the number of 11811 beds.
