New Delhi : Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud made a strong statement on Wednesday, asserting that no part of India should be referred to as ‘Pakistan’ as it goes against the country’s territorial integrity.

This remark was made in response to the controversial comments made by Karnataka High Court judge Justice V Srishananda, who had referred to a Muslim-dominated locality in Bengaluru as ‘Pakistan’. The Supreme Court took serious note of this and sought a report from the High Court.

However, after the Judge expressed regret in open court, the Supreme Court decided not to pursue the matter further. The HC judge clarified that his remarks were unintentional and not meant to hurt anyone. The incident highlights the importance of upholding the unity and integrity of our nation, and it is reassuring to see the Chief Justice taking a firm stand on this issue.
