“No need to panic; working together to combat coronavirus”: PM Modi
New Delhi, March 03 (HS): Amid reports of coronavirus cases being reported from different parts of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said there was no need to panic and all states and Centre were working together to contain the spread.
In a series of tweets, PM Modi said on Tuesday morning, “There is no need to panic. We need to work together, take small yet important measures to ensure self-protection.”
The Prime Minister also held an extensive review meeting to look at the coronavirus situation in the country.
Sharing a graphic on the measures, “Basic protective measures for all…”, that can be taken to protect oneself from infection of coronavirus, Modi tweeted, “Had an extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Different ministries & states are working together, from screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention.”
Earlier in the day, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also called on PM Modi to discuss upon the coronavirus spread.
After meeting with the PM, Kejriwal has called a meeting with Health Minister Satyendar Jain and officials to take stock of the government’s preparations to deal with coronavirus.
Two fresh cases of coronavirus were reported on Monday, each from Telangana and New Delhi.
