New Delhi, Jan 18 (HS): Reacting sharply to the comments made by senior advocate Indira Jaisingh to wave off the death sentence to the Nirbhaya’s gang rape cum murder case, Asha Devi, mother of Nirbhaya said, “The whole country wants ‘Nirbhaya’ convicts to be hanged at the earliest, in such a situation, who is Indira Jaisingh to advise.”
She said that despite being a woman, she could not understand the pain of a woman. Such people should apologize to the whole country.
Asha Devi said, “Unbelievable how Indira Jaising even dared to suggest this. I met her many times over the years in Supreme Court, not once she asked for my wellbeing and today she is speaking in favour of convicts.” Asha Devi further said that such people earn a livelihood by supporting rapists, hence rape incidents don’t stop.
