Nirbhaya’s grandfather says – It would be reassuring if the culprits were hanged on December 16

New Delhi,16 December(HS): In spite of Seven years getting over after the gruesome Nirbhaya rape and murder case the parents and grandparent of the victim continue to weep as the culprits are yet to be brought to justice.

Lalji Singh, grandfather of the victim strongly feels that the offenders should be hanged today itself. He is of the opinion that if capital punishment is carried out it will set in motion a message which is bound to deter similar criminal acts.

At the same time, he also admits that the procedure may get prolonged due to legal formalities which anyway need to be followed.

He laments: Although it’s a long time since the inhuman act has been committed there should be no further delay in hanging the four criminals.
