Nitish says-now the chapter is over on JDU participation in NDA government

Patna,31 May(HS): After his return from New Delhi, the JDU president and Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar said that the issue of JDU participation in the BJP led NDA-II  government is over.

Nitish who was camping in the national capital for the last three days returned here to preside over the cabinet meeting. Nitish said since the BJP enjoyed an absolute majority on its own in Lok Sabha, in the cabinet expansion in future, only BJP MPs would be inducted.There is no scope for entry of the JFDU MPs in the union cabinet. I will not even  talk to them on the issue. We had already clarified our stand that we wanted proportional representation which was not accepted.
Nitish said, the JDU alliance with the BJP would continue in the Parliament and in Bihar too.
Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Sushil Kumar Modi, who too returned from the national capital refused to talk to media on the issue.
Nityanand Rai, state BJP president is the biggest beneficiary of cabinet formation as he has been made minister of state for  home affairs under the BJP chief, Amit Shah.
Other five ministers from Bihar have been given the same portfolio which they held in NDA-I period. Union law and justice minister, Ravishankar Prasad, who was allotted communications too in 2014 has been given the same again. In the second half of the first NDA ministry,communication was given to Manoj Sinha.
Ramvilas Paswan, RK Singh, Ashwini Kumar Chaubey have retained their old portfolios. Giriraj Singh, who held MSM portfolio earlier has been  handed over animal husbandry and fisheries ministry. He held the same portfolio in NDA ministry in  Bihar in 2010 also.
