New Delhi, July.02(HS): National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued notice to Anees-Ul-Islam, the grand son of separatist leader, Saiyad Ali Shah Geelani to appear before its interrogation team in its headquarter located at CGO Complex Delhi on 9th of July.

The notice says that he required in case related to Unlawful Activities Act for questioning.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the Jammu and Kashmir government had once defended the recruitment of Hurriyat faction chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s grandson for a post in the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre last year.

Then a government spokesman said Anees-ul-Islam had been appointed as research officer “purely on the basis of merit”. “The Criminal Investigation Department wing of the J&K Police has given a satisfactory and non-involvement report in favor of the selected candidate,” the spokesman said.
That time a newspaper had questioned the selection of Anees, and raised doubts if the rules were bent for his appointment. Responding to the report, the Director of the convention centre said the post was advertised on October 3, 2016.
