New Zealand won the first test by 10 wickets, go 1-0 up
New Delhi, Feb 24 (HS): New Zealand defeated India by 10 wickets on day 4 in first test, take 1-0 lead lead in the two match series. India were all out for 191 in the second innings, managing to take a short little lead of 8 runs. New Zealand chased the target of nine runs before lunch and won the match by 10 wickets at the Basin Reserve.
Earlier, New Zealand’s most experience pacer duo of Tim Southee and Trent Boult took nine out of ten wickets in the second innings. Southee ended up with a fifer, taking 5/61. While Boult dismissed four Indian batsmen for 39 runs.
The second test of the series will be starts from Saturday at the Hagley Oval.
New Zealand now have 120 points in the World Test Championship. While, India are still on top with 360 points.
