New Zealand: A major gas explosion in Christchurch city, 6 people injured

Wellington, July 19 (HS): A major  gas explosion occurred in Christchurch in New Zealand, causing a building  to be completely damaged. Six people were injured as well.

At the same time, dozens of houses have been evacuated after this incident. In this gas blast, a house was completely devastated, while the nearby houses were also damaged.

New Zealand police said the incident was very strong. The injured have been taken to the hospital. Those who were in the house at the time of the fire were badly wounded. Officials have confirmed that this was a gas explosion, although they said that they are still investigating the cause.

Emergency services have evacuated 50 houses of nearby areas. A eyewitness told that he went inside the house for help, but the house is still burning up. The worker working in a nearby hotel told that the blast was very strong, it seemed like there was a bomb explosion.

It is notable that four months ago, there were two mosques blast in Christchurch that killed 51 people.
