New Cancer Care Centre opens in the City of Joy

Kolkata, 26 July (HS): In order to bring a comprehensive and advanced cancer treatment with most advanced technologies, procedures and expertise to the doorsteps of millions of more people in Eastern India, Bengaluru based Health Care Global Enterprises (HCG), one of the largest providers of cancer care in India, here today inaugurated its 23rd comprehensive Cancer Centre in the country.

Speaking to Hindusthan Samachar on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new centre in this City of Joy, also the first  in Eastern India, here this afternoon, Dr Kumar said that the new centre, like 22 others  elsewhere in the country, would have stereotactic radiosurgery, robotic radiosurgery and the use of genomics for personalized treatment of cancer.

‘We are the pioneer and the first to introduce and adopt several such technologies in the country’, he claimed.

Stating that the unmatched facilities in this Specialist Cancer Care Centre would not only be accessible to all states in Eastern and North Eastern India but also to the people of neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

Among the facilities being offered at the new Centre Dr Kumar said among others the cutting-edge procedures like Re- radiation, total Body Irradiation, Radiosurgery, Iodine therapy, Bone Marrow Transplant would be made available under the expertise of board certified clinicians.

‘Additional programmes like Preventive oncology, screening and awareness have also been initiated to introduce proactive measures in order to reduce the burden of cancer’, he said.

In order to reach the goal and provide assistance to maximum number of patients HCG has joined hands with the city based EKO Cancer Centre, which is a dedicated Comprehensive Cancer Hospital for providing consistently high quality and result oriented cancer treatment by adopting global innovations.
