Mystery shrouds the death of a woman in Gopalganj, body recovered

Chapra/Gopalganj,19 June (HS): Police today recovered the corpse of a woman from under the bridge over Sona river at Kateya under the same police station. Deceased was identified as Rina Devi (32), daughter of Ram Daras Ram of Bheriya village under Kateya police station in Gopalganj.

Police have sent the corpse for postmortem and looking at the case from the point of murder and suicide both. Police said that prima faicie it appears that the woman was killed and later abandoned.
Family members told that Rina was married to Ranjit Prasad of Dibni Bazar Banjarwa village under Sevarahi police station of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Rina had three issues also. Her husband had died in an accident three years back and Rina was under the spell of shock after the incident.
Her brother Arvind Ram told before the police that Rina was brought here to attend a marriage ceremony. In the night of Tuesday, she had gone to sleep after taking dinner. But the following morning she was not to be found in the house.. Later the news came that the corpse of a woman was found from beneath the bridge . Police are investigating the matter from all angles.

In another gruesome incident in which two sisters were electrocuted last night when a high tension wire had fallen upon them, Gopalganj Sadar Circle Officer Vijay Kumar Singh today said that compensation of Rs 8 lakh would be provided to the aggrieved family. He said that after the  after process of investigation by electricity department the compensation money would be provided.
Meanwhile five thousand has been given to the family. Last evening while two sisters  Neelu and Pinki were walking outside their hut, a high tension wire had fallen on them due to strong wind and they both were electrocuted to death. Their parents also sustained injuries but they are said to be out of danger. The incident had occurred last evening at Rampur Tengrahi village under Jadopur police station in Gopalganj.
