Mystery shrouds death of Army jawan
PRAYAGRAJ, March 8 (HS): An army jawan identified as Santosh Kumar Yadav (40), son of Bachai lal, resident of Shiekhpur Rasool village under Charwa police station of Kaushambi district died under mysterious circumstances on Monday. His body was found in his room.
The victim hailing from Assam battalion and posted in Arunachal Pradesh came three days before to his ancestral home in Kaushambi on vacation. He was a divorcee with wife living separately at her maternal home with son and daughter. According to family members, he was an alcoholic and after heavy drinking on Sunday night, he retired to his room. On Monday morning family members raised the alarm after finding his body with several wounds. According to sources, he was beaten to death by unidentified men with sticks and rods. ADG Prayagraj (zone), Prem Prakash rushed to the spot and sent the body for post mortem. However, police has failed to make any headway in the case and his death is still shrouded under mystery.
