Movement against CAA: Punjab remains cool amid cold wave .

Ludhiana, Dec.23(HS): In freezing cold, Punjab is totally bereft of political activities in relation to Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) that has been recently passed by parliament. In Ludhiana, Jalandhar and even in far-flung Amritsar people are not found even gossiping about CAA agitation should not even talked off.

Says Mahesh Ole who is working with a vernacular newspaper of Punjab from Ludhiana, here people are absolutely engaged in their affairs. People working in the industry are almost outsiders and who are running the industries are also overwhelmed with their tasks so they have no spared time to do politics. Ole says further that one day a demonstration was held in respect of CAA but very few people participated in it because here are engaged in their task.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Sharma, president Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha has to say something different. He, almost, blamed the weakness of Congress for it and said that due to internal rift Punjab Congress is being run by different groups and so they cannot raise any issue strongly.

However, he said that an organization belonging to the minority had organized a demonstration a few days ago. But some people also mentioned Captain Amrinder Singh experiment with Punjab politics. He has already declared time and again that after this term he may resign from public life as his legal problems like Citi Scam has already been put to rest. He has been given clean chit in this case.

Meanwhile, a gossip of making Navjot Singh Sidhu as deputy chief minister of Punjab is also running round and this may be big spoilsport for the Punjab Congress and particularly chief minister Captain Amrinder Singh. So, people here in Ludhiana pooh-poohing that Punjab is a politically in-active state but they held internal-rift responsible for the inactivity.

Roads of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and even in Mohali are not in good shape. Once termed as cursed to Punjab that drug trafficking and actually Congress was in attacking mode against Vikramjeet Singh Majithia is still out of difficulty. So, the Congresspeople are in doldrums and rift is palpable in rank and files of Congress.
