Mother dies during quarrel between brothers over land dispute
Chapra/Gopalganj,26 July (HS) In a bloody battle between two brothers over land dispute last night, the mother sustained injuries and died. This incident occurred at Kamlapur village under Barauli police station late last night.
Deceased was identified as Laichi Kunwar. Elder brother Mahavir Mahto today lodged FIR against younger brother Ram Babu Mahto, his wife Reema Devi and nephew Tufani Mahto alleging that they all strangulated mother to death.
Police is inquiring into the matter. Villagers said that some land was in the name of the deceased and she wanted to divide equally among the brothers. But Ram Babu pressurised to gift all the land in his name. Villagers were of different opinions. Some said that Ilaichi Devi died of heart attack while some opine that she was strangulated to death. Police have not found any scar on the body of the deceased.
Police officials Ashok Chadhray and Lal Babu Prasad said that a compromise has been arrived at between two brothers. SHO Rakesh Kumasr Sharma told that case is confusing. No arrest has been made. Prima Facie it appears to be case of death by heart attack.
