Mohan Bhagwat on bridging Science, Spirituality, and the power of Faith
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat recently discussed the limits of science and the relationship between science and spirituality. He emphasized that there is no conflict between the two, as both rely on faith to achieve their goals.
Bhagwat argued that for the past 2,000 years, humanity has been driven by the belief that sensory perception is the only path to truth. However, he pointed out that this view is incomplete and that science has its limitations.
Bhagwat highlighted a key aspect of Indian Sanatan culture: introspection while observing the world. He explained that this internal reflection, or ‘praan shakti’ (life force), is a powerful force that drives India to help others, regardless of whether the country in need is friendly or hostile.
He also noted that spirituality, like science, operates on the principle of “know before you believe,” but uses different methods.
In spirituality, Bhagwat said, the mind serves as the tool, and its energy comes from prana, or life force. The stronger one’s life force, the better equipped they are to progress spiritually.
Bhagwat concluded that it is wrong to assume science can explain everything. Both science and spirituality have their own unique ways of understanding the world, but each has limitations.
Thus, science cannot claim to have the answers to everything, and spirituality offers a different but equally valuable perspective on life and existence.
