Minister Nandi acts promptly ‘on shortage of beds complaints from Chitrakoot’
PRAYAGRAJ, April 21 (HS): Cabinet Minister, UP Government for Civil Aviation, Political Pension, Minority Welfare, Muslim Waqf and Haj, Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ while speaking to HS, urged people not to panic, saying adequate arrangements have been made to contain the spread of coronavirus.
He informed that the BJP is all set to start ‘Help Desk’ across the state with immediate effect. “Amid the exponential surge of COVID-19 cases across the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has instructed all its state units to set up dedicated help desks and helpline numbers for assisting people in getting beds in hospitals, medicines. State units are being asked to distribute Coronavirus immunity kits among people as well. The help desk will comprise of district president and people from medical wing of the party,” he said.
Sufficient number of oxygen beds are available in Chitrakoot district, the minister told HS after taking a stock of the situation via a virtual meeting with administrative and health officials of Chitrakoot district on Tuesday. He is also incharge minister of Chitrakoot and sought people’s cooperation, urging them to adhere to coronavirus norms.
He directed Chitrakoot officials to accommodate 250 additional beds and take immediate steps to ensure uninterrupted supply of medical oxygen to patients amid reports of shortage in some places. He has been continuously receiving complaints about shortage of beds in Chitrakoot with majority of patients from Chitrakoot being referred to Prayagraj and Banda district. He immediately held a virtual meeting with district magistrate and officiating CMO of Chitrakoot and gathered no-holds-barred feedback on the arrangements and preparedness by officials to tackle 2nd wave of Covid-19. On his directions, 100 beds each are being accommodated at RK Singh Patel Institute, Raghauli and Bhanga Shivrampur.
During a virtual meeting with party workers, he asked them to set up dedicated help desks and helpline numbers for assisting all those who are infected by Coronavirus. Not only this, he specifically asked cadre to help people in getting medicines and beds in hospitals.
He not only asked them to set up help desks and put out a helpline number for the people but also said that the BJP members should distribute masks and sanitiser and also coordinate with the local administration to launch a campaign for plasma donation.
MP from Prayagraj, Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Mayor Abhilasha Gupta and district office bearers also participated in the meeting. MP Dr. Joshi asked party workers to eradicate Corona by effectively ensuring optimum utilization of organizational strength of the party. Mayor Abhilasha Gupta said that we will win against Corona with determination, resolve and targeted work.
