Minister admits Kerala situation worsening.
Kochi, September 10 (HS) : Kerala is in for major trouble as the number of Covid-19 patients and deaths due to the pandemic are all set to see a hike in the coming weeks, according to K K Shylaja, minister of health. “Now that we are relaxing the lockdown rules and life is coming back to normal, chances for the transmission of the disease are high. People must follow the guidelines,” said the minister while inaugurating Covid-19 test centre at Ernakulam by video conferencing from the State Capital.
Later in the day, the minister’s office said in a release that 12 persons died in the State on Thursday taking the total fatalities to 396. The day saw 3,349 new persons testing positive for Covid-19 which took the total number of patients in the State to 26,229. Shylaja claimed that Kerala has the lowest mortality rate in the country.
On Thursday 2,691 persons were admitted to hospitals across the State after diagnosed with Covid-19.
