Meerut Murder Mystery: Why did Muskan and Sahil dismember Saurabh Rajput?

Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla, confessed to killing Saurabh Rajput and dismembering his body to hide his identity. During police questioning, they admitted cutting off Saurabh’s wrists to prevent fingerprint identification. They also slit his throat and decapitated him, believing a headless body would make identification harder.
The forensic team found bloodstains throughout the crime scene—on the bed sheets, pillows, bathroom tiles, and water tap. Investigators also discovered a bloodstained suitcase that the accused planned to use to dispose of the body. However, they abandoned the plan when the body didn’t fit inside.
The murder came to light when police found Saurabh’s dismembered body sealed in a blue drum filled with sand and cement in Meerut. Muskan and Sahil allegedly killed him on March 4 after he returned from his job in London. Reports suggest Muskan planned the murder to remove Saurabh and marry Sahil.
Meerut police arrested both accused and presented them in court, where angry lawyers attacked them. Meanwhile, Muskan’s parents condemned her actions, calling her unfit for society and demanding the death penalty for both her and Sahil.
