THIRUVANANTHAPURAM (February 06 :HS): The CPI(M) led Kerala Government has started cracking the whip on activists and leaders who question the discrimination being shown against Hindus in the State. R V Babu, leader of the Hindu Aikya Vedi, an umbrella organization of all Hindu outfits in Kerala was arrested by Paravoor Police on Friday for exhorting the Hindus to shun Halal certified products.

The Hindu Aikya Vedi leader was picked up from his office by police and slapped him with charges under section 153-A, a non-bailable offence for his attempt to “create enmity between communities”.  But a local court set him free on bail till February 8 late Friday itself.

Babu in his social media post has asked the Hindus to shun Halal certified establishments and business premises. It is reported that the Halal certificate issued to a corporate hospital in Kozhikode provoked the Hindus to question the legality of such discriminations.

“We can understand the logic behind the issuing of Halal certificates to eateries and cafeterias. It is an instruction to members of the community not to eat from non-Islamic hotels and an invitation to them to consume food only from Islamic eateries. But establishments like hospitals and educational centres being issued such certificates is to be condemned,” said a Hindu Aikya Vedi leader.

Of late Kerala is fast emerging as an Islamic State with the opening of thousands of cafeterias serving only Arab and Islamic food with Halal certification. Last week saw, a hospital in Kozhikode issuing advertisements and releases announcing that it has been Halal certified. Kuttan Pillai, a social media activist, condemned the Halal certification of hospitals and questioned the legality of the act in his posting. “Is this an announcement that only members of one particular community would be taken care of in that hospital? Eateries, restaurants are functioning as per the directives issued by the departments of health, public health and standing committees constituted by the  local bodies. What is the purpose of these bodies when Halal certificates become mandatory to all establishments?” asked Pillai.

The CPI(M) -led Government is for helping the Mullas and Mowlavis in the Islamisation of Kerala. The support extended to Halal certification and the directive to district marriage officers not to share with the public the information of individuals getting married under the Special Marriage Act are proofs of the tacit support  extended to the Islamists for the Islamisation of the State.
