Madhya Pradesh becomes a hot oven with mercury rising from 42-46 degrees
Bhopal,24 May(HS): The entire state including the capital Bhopal is scorching with heat. Nine districts of the state are in the grip of a heatwave and mercury has been recorded at 42 to 46 degree Celsius in 27 districts. Khajuraho, Gwalior and Naogaon were the hottest in the state with a temperature of 46 degrees Celsius.
According to meteorologist PK Sah, the temperature in Bhopal has reached close to 44 degree Celsius. This is the highest temperature so far this season. According to meteorologists, the weather will be warmer at the moment. Also, there is a possibility of heatstroke.
While Khajuraho, Gwalior, Naugaon recorded 46 degrees Celsius, Rewa, Sidhi, Khandwa, Khargone, Guna and Damoh districts recorded a temperature of 45 degree Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, not all parts of the country are expected to get relief from the heatwave. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several states including Madhya Pradesh, and the heat outbreak will continue till 27 May.
Meteorologist Sah says the wind direction remains northwest. There is continuous hot air coming from Rajasthan. Its effect is visible in the state. This year too, Nautapa is going to start on 25 May. Meteorologists also call it heatwave or sunny days, while it is also called Nautapa and Rohini in colloquial terms.
During the next 24 hours, the heatwave is expected to continue in some places in Chambal, Rajgarh, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Tikamgarh, Mandsaur, Raisen, Damoh, Ratlam, Neemuch, Khajuraho, Naogaon, Guna, Chhatarpur, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur and Gwalior districts. The weather patterns are not expected to change in the state for a day or two.
