M.Venkaiah Naidu salutes farmers on World Food Security day
New Delhi, June 07 (HS): Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday saluted the farmers on the occasion of the second World Food Security Day which is being celebrated all over the world. The purpose of this special day is to maintain balanced and safe food standards and spread awareness among the masses. During the occasion, Naidu said that food security was very important at the time of present Corona crisis and for this every section of the society has to understand its role.
In a tweet, M. Venkaiah Naidu said on Sunday, “Salute to the farmers who served food on our plate, on the occasion of World Food Security Day. To be healthy it is necessary that our food is pure, without adulteration and nutritious. For this, everyone has to make efforts together – food producers, consumers and the government all have a common obligation.”
In another tweet, Naidu said that according to every region in India, there is a rich tradition of taking food according to the need and climate there. It is important that we adopt our traditional food in life and abandon fast food and junk food, which will provide nutritious food and increase immunity. He said that providing adequate and pure food to poor and needy people during the Corona epidemic is also a shared responsibility of the society.
