Lupin Pharma’s recalls 18408(60 ml) bottles of antibiotic used for pneumonia
New delhi, Jun. 17(HS): Lupin Pharma Inc, a US subsidiary of Mumbai based Indian Company began recalling lot of this antibiotic drug ‘Cefdinir’ meant for treating pneumonia from May 23 across US after receiving complaint of finding a metal piece in a bottle of this drug before reconstitution.
This lot was manufactured at Mandideep manufacturing facility of Madhya Pradesh having expiry of November 2020 and supplied to Baltimore(Maryland). This recall has been mentioned in the report of US Food and Drug Administration.
However, this recall has been classified under Class II wherein the drug can cause temporary or medically reversible health conditions but not serious adverse health conditions.
It is noteworthy that the recalling is under process and may call back more bottles from the market.
