Locals demand facilities before the fair at Baini Sangam

UDHAMPUR, March 14 (HS):Before the fair to be held at Baisakhi Baini Sangam, the local people of the Chenani Tehsil in District Udhampur have demanded the administration to provide facilities so that the devotees may not have to face troubles.

Local residents Balwant Chand, Ved Prakash and Vijay Kumar told that the condition of decades old toilets in Baini Sangam should be improved. Thousands of devotees reach the fair. They face problems due to lack of facilities. A large number of devotees also come to the fair from other states, including women.

In such a situation, everyone gets in trouble due to deteriorating condition of bathrooms and toilets. A fair is being organized at Baini Sangam since ancient times. After bathing on Baisakhi, people offer their prayers at the ancient temple of Lord Shiva. In such a situation, necessary steps may be taken at the earliest to solve the problems at the fair venue. It is worth remembering that Tavi and Devika meet at Baini Sangam. It is believed that Lord Shiva’s procession passed from here.
