Kolkata: Post on CAA, Bangladeshi student notice to leave the country
New Delhi, Feb 28 (HS): A notice has been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs to a student of Bangladesh studying at Visva Bharati University in West Bengal. Bangladeshi student Afsara is alleged to have participated in anti-India activities. In such a situation, she will have to leave India by February 29.
According to sources, the Foreign Regional Registration Office of Kolkata, which comes under the Union Home Ministry has issued this notice. Vishwa Bharati University is a central university and Afsara Anika Meem, a resident of Bangladesh, is a graduate student here and is doing a designing course.
Afsara, a resident of Bangladesh’s Kustia district is accused of writing posts against the Citizenship Amendment Act on Facebook. Due to this, She has been accused of deteriorating the atmosphere, being anti-India. Apart from the Facebook post, Afsara also participated in the protest against CAA. Afsara was given this notice on February 14.

Earlier Jacob, a German student of IIT-Madras, also demonstrated against the Citizenship Amendment Act in December, even then he was sent back from the country. An uproar was created by the opposition on this.
