Mumbai/New Delhi, Oct.03 (HS): Kiren rijuju launched FIFA U17 women world cup official emblem in Mumbai. FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Bareman, AIFF Chairman Praful Patel along with FIFA legend and two-time World Cup winner Kristine Lilly were present on the occasion.
The occasion will mark one year to go for the second FIFA tournament that India will host next year after the men’s U-17 World Cup in 2017.
On the occaison, Union Sports minister Kiren Rijuju said, We can not afford India lagging behind in football. India had performed well in this game in the past and now we have to promote the game. This tournament will break all the previous records in the country.
‘The all India women football league is to be happen by next month. We will promote the game in all the corner in the country including small villages. The sports authority of India have done all the preparation. We extend full support to the tournament. It will be perfect platform for the game to gain momentum, Minister further added.
Meanwhile, President AIFF Praful Patel said, We have had succesful U17 football world cup in 2017. It had maximum number of spectators in 2017. AIFF is working to make football as important sports and popular game in the country. With this tournament will see in next 10 years India will become football nation.
