Kejriwal playing with people’s rights: BJP
New Delhi, June 02 (HS): The BJP has criticized the decision of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to seal the borders of the national capital for a week. BJP’s Delhi state president Manoj Tiwari taunted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal through a video on Twitter on Tuesday, saying that Kejriwal was playing with the fundamental rights of people by closing the Delhi border for a week and violated Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the Constitution. He said that Kejriwal avoided sealing the borders when it was truly needed, but now when the country was moving towards unlock, the borders were being sealed. This was an inhuman act, he said.
Tiwari said that Delhi government was sealing the borders to limit the number of people coming to the state for treatment. Now the question arises as to who is coming to Delhi for treatment. The people of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Haryana are safe in their own states. They are already familiar with the present situation of Delhi and are scared too. He said that Delhi government had closed the borders for those who live in NCR.
Tiwari said that Kejriwal had earlier also issued a controversial order that no outsider could be treated at GTB Hospital . But after being challenged by an NGO in court, the government withdrew the order. Tiwari asked Kejriwal why such decisions were being taken at all. “In this corona crisis, you should walk together. We are supportive of that and request you to answer all these questions because Delhi needs relief and not punishment,” Tiwari said.
