Karnataka to undergo state wide lockout

Bengaluru,23 March(HS): Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa admitted this afternoon at a media conference here that it is becoming difficult to have a check on the home quarantined Coronavirus infection cases and the state government is seriously thinking of enforcing stringent regulations in this connection by evening.

He was addressing media persons soon after having a meeting with the health experts and senior doctors and clarified that the state government will abide by the suggestions made by the experts in the field.
A provision of 1,000 beds will be made exclusively for treating the Coronavirus infection cases at the state government owned Victoria hospital in the city while 1,000 ventilators have been indented for the purpose, informed the Chief Minister.
He also informed that the private hospitals have come forward to treat the infected patients apart from providing 100 ventilators to the state government.
The chief minister also informed of setting up 30 Fever Centers to cater to the requirements. Indira Canteens across the state shall provide free food to poor people throughout the day, he declared.
