Karnataka government announces CID inquiry into Mangaluru police firing …
Bengaluru,23 December(HS): The state government has instituted an investigation by the CID to probe the violent incidents in Mangaluru city paving way for a police firing resulting in the killing of two people. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa made an announcement in this connection to media persons here this morning.
It may be recalled here that areas under the purview of five police stations in Mangaluru city were brought under curfew following violent protests against the Citizens Amendment Act(CAA) last Thursday. However, as the law and order situation started limping back slowly the prohibitory orders barring movement of the public was initially relaxed for a few hours and later withdrawn wholly.
