Karnataka Coronavirus toll raises to 11
Bengaluru,15 April(HS): A 69 years old person hailing from Chikkaballapur district has succumbed to the Coronavirus infection, taking the total number of fatal victims in the state to 11.
B Sreeramulu, state Health Minister in a tweet has mentioned about the 11th casualty. He appealed people to remain indoors and cooperate with the state government as the funeral rites need to be held in accordance with the protocol mandated by the central government.
At present, the dead body has been kept in the mortuary of the state-owned Victoria hospital, informed the minister in his tweet.
The deceased was a resident of 17th ward in Chikkaballapur. He was admitted to a city-based private high tech hospital for severe breathing problems and was being treated there. Yesterday, his samples were sent for examination and the test results were positive.
Immediately, he was rushed to the Victoria hospital where he passed away today. Five people who came in contact with him have been admitted to the Chikkaballapur Covid-19 hospital while two others have been quarantined in the city.
