Kanguva Box Office Day 2: Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani’s film falls short of records
Kanguva, the highly anticipated Tamil action film, hit theaters this Thursday with mixed reviews. Directed by Siva, it features Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani in key roles. The film, known for its grand scale and epic fantasy action, generated significant buzz ahead of its release, raising audience expectations.
On its opening day, Kanguva had a strong start with a box office collection of Rs 24 crore, creating excitement among fans. However, day 2 numbers showed a significant dip. The film earned Rs 5.54 crore (nett) in India on Friday, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 29.54 crore (nett).
The Tamil occupancy on day 2 was relatively low, at just 16.27 percent, though evening shows saw an increase in footfalls. The worldwide gross collection for the movie now stands at Rs 58.60 crore after the first two days.
Despite the mixed reception, the film still holds a special place for its cast and crew. Suriya, after completing the final shot, posted an emotional message on social media, reflecting on the experience. “My last shot done for Kanguva! An entire unit filled with positivity!” he shared, expressing his excitement for the audience to finally see the film on screen.
With Kanguva showing some promise, it remains to be seen how the film performs in the coming days. While the opening was strong, the drop in collections may indicate challenges ahead at the box office.
