JMU VC demands inquiry into police entry incident ..
New Delhi, 16 December(HS): Najma Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Milia University here today condemned the action of police personnel entering the University campus without prior permission and demanded an inquiry into the alleged incident.
She also informed: We will lodge a complaint against the forceful entry of the police into the University campus without prior permission from the university authorities.
However, she denied rumors that two students have died in the police action against the students inside the campus Yesterday. Around 200 people were injured in Yesterday’s incidents and most of them happen to be our students, she stated.
She also claimed: Jamia is one of the most peaceful Universities and now a lot of damage has been done to the property of the University. I do not know how the undoing will be set right. Maybe the loss could be compensated. But it’s difficult to set right the emotional harm that has taken place among the student and teaching community.
The Vice-Chancellor also appealed to the students and others not to be carried away by any hearsay rumors.
