Jharkhand brings Stranded Labourers from Andaman
Ranchi 31 May (HS)For the last two months, 180 migrant workers from Jharkhand stranded in Andaman and Nicobar Islands reached Jharkhand by airplane on Saturday. On their arrival, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the return of all the laborers’ brothers was comforting to the mind. The last 48-hour effort was successful.
The state government will bring back all the migrants trapped in the lockdown. The migrants stranded in various states have returned to their homes in the last few days, their arrival continues. The effort of the government is reflected by the immense patience of the laborers.
After arrival of the stranded migrant laborers in Andaman and Nicobar Islands at Birsa Munda Airport, Minister of Sanitation and Drinking Water Mithilesh Thakur and MLA Stephen Marandi welcomed them with roses. Under the constant supervision of the Chief Minister, the goal of bringing the workers from Port Blair in coordination with the local district administration and police was achieved by the departments of Municipal Development, Transport, Labor and Corona Control Room. After the screening of all the migrants who reached Jharkhand, they were given a packet of food and were sent to their destination with honour.
Notably, the Jharkhand had been putting hard efforts in bringing back labourers from various states including Ladakh and Hyderabad.
