Jaishankar asserts India’s Global role at G-20 Foreign Minister’s meet

India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar outlined India’s global stance at the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting. He addressed key geopolitical issues, including the Middle East, maritime security, the Ukraine conflict, Indo-Pacific affairs, and UN reforms.
On X, Jaishankar emphasized the need for G20 consensus in tackling global challenges. He stressed the lessons from recent years and the importance of national interests in shaping foreign policies.
Jaishankar engaged in bilateral talks with several counterparts. In his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, he reviewed India-Russia cooperation and discussed the Ukraine conflict, including the Riyadh meeting. He also extended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wishes to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
His discussions included talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. He also engaged with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Brazil’s Mauro Vieira, and Ethiopia’s Gedeon Timotheus.
The G20 consists of 19 major economies and the European Union. Jaishankar’s meetings reinforced India’s commitment to global cooperation and strategic dialogue.
