IT sleuths raid continued at the house of Maharashtra Dy. CM Ajit Pawar and his sisters
New Delhi, 8 October (H.S): The Income Tax Department?s raid continued for the second consecutive day on Friday at the houses, offices and business establishments of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s three sisters and son Parth Pawar. Ajit Pawar said that at present the guests (income tax team) are in the house. After their departure, he will talk to the media in this regard. However, it is not clear in which case this action is being taken. The Income Tax Department has not given the official information about this action to the media.
According to sources, the Income Tax Department on Thursday raided the houses and offices of Ajit Pawar’s sisters- Vijaya Patil, Dr. Rajni Indulkar and Neeta Patil. The IT sleuths have recovered digital items including computers from Vijaya Patil’s house in Kolhapur for investigation. Raids are going on at the house of Dr. Rajni Indulkar and Neeta Patil in Pune since Thursday morning till now. Here the Income Tax team is scrutinizing the transactions done by their business establishments.
Similarly, the Income Tax team has raided the office of Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar at Nariman Point on Thursday evening. Along with this, raids are also going on at Parth Pawar’s office and business establishment named Ananta Merx LLP.
NCP spokesperson and State Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik said that if there was any irregularity in tax, the IT department could have asked for information by sending a notice, but the Department at the behest of the BJP only took this kind of defamation to the Mahavikas Aghadi government.
Malik alleged that the BJP was misusing the central agencies for its benefit.
