Israel strikes Hezbollah bases for third day straight
On Thursday, Israeli airstrikes hit the Lebanese village of Arab Salim, killing six, including four doctors, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. The attacks targeted Hezbollah bases in Beirut’s southern suburbs for a third consecutive day. Early morning strikes filled Beirut’s skies with thick smoke, deepening fear among residents.
Lebanon’s state news agency (NNA) reported that the strikes impacted areas beyond Beirut, reaching as far as Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon. Overnight shelling and airstrikes heavily damaged buildings and residential complexes there. In the towns of Bazouriyeh and Jumayjimeh, at least five people were killed.
Beirut’s suburbs had already been evacuated, so official casualty figures are not yet available for Thursday’s strikes. However, the Lebanese Health Ministry reports that since October 7, Israeli attacks have resulted in 3,365 deaths and injured 14,344 people across Lebanon.
