Israel strikes Hezbollah base in Lebanon again
Israel intensified its campaign against Hezbollah, launching massive airstrikes on Lebanon. On Friday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) struck a residential area in Beirut, just 50 minutes after issuing a warning. The explosion near tall buildings filled the city with smoke, causing panic as the sound echoed far away. Several buildings collapsed, leaving the area in chaos.
In Damascus, a missile strike damaged a five-story building in Mazzeh. Israel claimed the attack targeted infrastructure and command centers of the Islamic Jihad terror group. Lebanon’s health ministry condemned the strikes as barbaric, stating the Civil Defense Force has no ties to Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah retaliated by firing rockets at Israel’s border, further escalating tensions. Amid the violence, the United States proposed a ceasefire, hoping to ease the growing conflict.
The airstrikes occurred shortly before Ali Larijani, an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, was set to meet Palestinian faction representatives at Iran’s embassy in Damascus. This highlights the broader regional implications of the ongoing conflict.
