Iran releases 54000 prisoners due to coronavirus

Tehran, Mar 04 (HS): Iran has temporarily released 54000 prisoners due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus. In the past, more than 77 people have died in Iran due to Coronavirus and more than 2330 cases have been reported. Besides, 23 Members of Parliament have also been infected.

Judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Esmaili has said that the prisoners have been examined and their tests have been found to be negative. They have been temporarily released on bail. However, the Prisoners who have been sentenced to more than five years have not been released. In the last two weeks, 77 people have died due to coronavirus in Iran and more than 2330 cases have been reported.
