IPL: Ryan Harris appointed Delhi Capitals bowling coach
New Delhi, August 25 (HS) Former Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris will be seen as the bowling coach of the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) edition this year. Harris will replace compatriot James Hope.
Hopes, who has been holding the post of Delhi bowling coach for the last two years, said that he was resigning from the post due to personal reasons.
Harris, who worked with Kings XI Punjab last year, said he was happy to return to the IPL.”
He said, “This is a great opportunity for me to fulfill the franchise’s trophy-raising dream. The Capitals have an impressive bowling line up, and I can’t wait to work with them all. “
Harris played 27 matches in his Test career, after which he had to retire in 2015 due to a knee injury. Harris has previously played coaching roles with the BBL team Brisbane Heat and the Australian national team.
Compatriot Ricky Ponting will join Harris in this campaign, who is the head coach of Delhi.
This year’s IPL will be played in the UAE from September 19, which could not be held in India due to the increasing influence of Coronavirus.
