Internet service restored in Lucknow, violence and disturbance caused loss of 4.5 crores

Lucknow, Dec 28 (HS): After the protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the ban on the Internet has been lifted for several days in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow). Internet service has now been restored in Lucknow. At the same time, the district administration has also assessed the damage done in the December 19 violence (CAA Violence).

According to the district administration, the loss of nearly four and a half crores has been reported in this violence and disturbance. At the same time, notice has been sent to 150 people from the administration. It is being told that this number may increase further. According to the district administration, the recovery notice will be processed after the action of the notice.

A total of 372 cases have been registered in different districts of the state, while 1246 people have been arrested in this regard. Apart from this, 5558 people have also been taken into custody. During the December 19 protests, around 35 vehicles were forwarded to Hazratganj, Kaiserbagh, Thakurganj and Hasanganj areas of Lucknow. These included bikes, autos, cars as well as OB vans of media. During this time a roadways bus was also burnt. Not only this, the incident of arson and sabotage was also carried out in two police posts.

Lucknow District Magistrate (DM) Abhishek Prakash had instructed to evaluate the damage done by forming a team under the leadership of ADM Vishwabhushan Mishra. According to DM, recovery notice will be sent after getting a reply from 150 people to whom notice has been sent. After this, if necessary, action will be taken to seize the property.
