Ink attack on Aam Admi Party MLA Somnath Bharti in UP
Lucknow, 11 January (HS) : Aam Admi Party (AAP) MLA Somnath Bharti faced ink attack at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. He was going to inspect a government school when an activist of Hindu Yuva Vahini allegedly threw ink on him. Bharti however has been taken under police custody in a case.
According to reports AAP MLA Somnath Bharti reached Raebareli on Sunday night. Today he was going to inspect a government school in the district. But on being stopped by the police, he was arguing with the police personnel. Meanwhile one of the youths present on the occasion threw ink on Somnath Bharti and flew from the scene.
It is alleged that the youth was a Hindu Yuva Vahini activist and he was irked over the controversial remark of Somnath on UP’s government hospitals and Yogi government on Saturday at Jagdishpur in Amethi district. Amethi police have registered a case in this connection against Somnath.
Following the ink attack Somnath was detained in the Raebareli guest house for some time. Later he was arrested by the police in connection with the Amethi case. Search is on to nab the youth who threw ink on the AAP MLA, said a police officer.
Meanwhile, Somnath alleged that the BJP as well as the Yogi government was hatching conspiracy against the Aam Admi Party workers in UP.
