Indian Railways introduces free mobile and WiFi calling – Piyush Goyal

New Delhi,Jan 16 (HS): Railways have introduced free mobile and WiFi calling and many other facilities through a unique human interactive interface system. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted confirming its launch.

According to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, this service has been started as a pilot project at the Visakhapatnam railway station.

The Railway Minister has also shared a video and  information conveyed by  the Ministry of Railways that it has installed the first human interactive interface system of its kind at the Visakhapatnam railway station under the Make in India campaign.

It is a unique nexus between digital kiosks and digital billboards.

Many things can be done with this one machine. With the help of this digital kiosk, rail passengers can make free mobile and video calling. It also has fast charging ports for the convenience of passengers traveling with mobiles and laptops. Apart from this, CCTV cameras are also installed in this kiosk for 24-hour surveillance.

According to the information provided in the video, passengers can seek information related to the weather and trains on the interactive screen given in the digital kiosk. Apart from this, Google map, city map, and information of local places can also be found.

 On the occasion of New Year, the Railway Minister announced  Helpline number 139 that is based on  interactive voice response. Thus if passengers needed any assistance they have to call 139 only.
